To the University Association

You are now entering the electronic space of the University Association for Research in Fundamental Psychopathology - UARFP, an international non-profit voluntary scientific society with headquarters in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Founded in May, 2002, the UARFP grew out of the University Network for Research in Fundamental Psychopathology, created in 1996. The UARFP members are professors with PhDs, involved in education, research and extension in the field of psychopathology, who take subjectivity into consideration. Other information on the purposes of the UARFP can be obtained in its by-laws.

The Association currently (February 2010) has 56 members, who work in 24 Brazilian universities and in universities Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, France and United Kingdom. The rules for admission are clearly defined (see topic on “how to become a member”.

The Association currently carries out the following activities:

1.Biennial scientific meetings of its members;

2.the International Congress of Fundamental Psychopathology (biennial);

3.Brazilian Congress of Fundamental Psychopathology (biennial);

4.International Pierre Fédida Contest for Unpublished Essays in Fundamental Psychopathology (biennial);

5.Publication of the quarterly official organ, Revista Latinoamericana de Psicopatologia Fundamental;

6.Publication of its official electronic organ, Latin-American Journal of Fundamental Psychopathology Online;

7.Publication of its monthly Newsletter Online;

8.Maintenance of this electronic space.

In addition, the Association cooperates actively in the publication of a series of books entitled Biblioteca de Psicopatologia Fundamental, put out by Editora Escuta Press, and has close ties with other Laboratories of Fundamental Psychopathology and permanent research groups at numerous universities (see topic on “Other Laboratories of Fundamental Psychopathology”).
